Robert L. Bailes
Litigation support, business valuation, forensic accounting, tax and consulting.
Accountants & Consultants Since 1991
Bailes & Co., P.C. is a certified public accounting and consulting firm providing tax, accounting, valuation, litigation-support, forensic, and advisory services from offices in Tyler and Addison, Texas.
Since 1991
A firm founded onwork that holds up.
Robert L. Bailes founded Bailes & Co., P.C. in 1991. From a single office in Tyler, the firm has grown into a full-service practice serving closely held businesses, families, and the attorneys who rely on our analysis — with a second office in the Dallas area, in Addison.
Our everyday work — tax preparation, tax planning, and business accounting — is backed by valuation, forensic, and expert-witness practice built for complex financial matters. When a matter grows complicated, it stays inside the firm: the professionals who understand your records work alongside the specialists who value the business, trace the assets, and defend the analysis in deposition and at trial — so nothing begins with an outside expert learning your file from scratch.
That combination of technical knowledge and practical business judgment is what allows our clients to make consequential financial decisions with confidence.
Who we serve
Owners who need tax, accounting, and advisory work from professionals who understand how the business actually runs — and its value, ownership, and transitions.
Personal tax preparation and planning, estate and gift strategy, family-business questions, and financial analysis in divorce and other disputes.
Business valuations, asset tracing, economic-damages analysis, fraud investigation, and consulting or testifying experts who prepare reports that withstand scrutiny.
Trust and estate accounting, valuations, tax support, and investigative work for administrations and disputed accountings.
Joint-interest billing, revenue and royalty accounting, and specialized back-office support for producers and working- and royalty-interest owners.
Forensic accounting, asset tracing, and discovery support when the numbers are contested and the analysis has to hold up.
Our approach
Because the work stays within one firm, professionals build from an established understanding of the records, ownership, and reporting history. Clients spend less time re-explaining the financial background, and the analysis stays connected from the return to the valuation to the courtroom.
Our work is prepared to hold up financially, before regulators, and in litigation. Our professionals prepare reports and provide testimony in financial disputes and legal proceedings across Texas.
Clients work with the professionals who do the work — without unnecessary layers or bureaucracy.
Long-standing East Texas relationships, supported by the credentials and technical depth complex matters require — CPA, ABV, and CFF designations held on staff.
How the practice developed
From a Tyler practice tospecialized capabilities.
Bailes & Co. began in 1991 as a full-service local CPA practice. Over the following decades, the everyday tax and accounting work gave rise to specialized practices — much of it growing out of the same records and business questions clients already trusted the firm to handle.
Valuation, forensic accounting, asset tracing, litigation support, and oil & gas accounting became flagship services, giving the firm an unusually connected view of compliance, operations, value, ownership, and financial disputes.
1991
Robert L. Bailes — a Baylor-trained CPA — opens Bailes & Co. as a local certified public accounting and consulting practice.
The 1990s–2000s
The firm builds flagship practices in business valuation, litigation support, forensic accounting, asset tracing, and oil & gas accounting — serving owners, families, and the attorneys who need defensible analysis.
Today
From offices in Tyler and Addison, Bailes & Co. pairs traditional tax and accounting with specialized financial analysis for clients across Texas.
